Fadlallah warns against Sunni-Shia sedition

Prominent Shia cleric Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah said after meeting with Minister of Transport and Public Works Ghazi Aridi on Monday that Lebanese should constantly be communicating to confront Israel’s conspiracy and attempts to destabilize the country through its daily violations, plans of a wide-scale attack, and efforts to cause a Sunni-Shia sedition.
Aridi, in turn, said that he is also concerned about a Sunni-Shia sedition and that “all efforts should be made to enhance national unity.”
Fadlallah welcomed the Shia-Druze reconciliation, a reference to the rapprochement between Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt, calling for Lebanese to confide and trust each other, as well as to be open to one another.
Aridi also said that deliberations regarding the cabinet formation progressed during the last couple of days adding, “We are close to agreeing on key issues, and we should build on that to move forward into looking for names of new ministers and portfolios.”
