Many people do not understand the issue of Tawasul and condemn those that practice it. First of all they need to check it out, as it is in the Quran. Also many scholars of the various schools of thought have written about it. The issue is not whether it is allowed but what type of Tawasul is allowed, that is what the scholars have concluded. The other point to remember is that if Shias are non Muslim for practising Tawasul then so are many sunni Muslims who out number the Salafi sect.
